4 Tools for Muscle & Tissue Recovery | MSM, Amino Acids & More

4 Tools for Muscle & Tissue Recovery With the move comes a LOT of muscle soreness. I live in a basement (stairs) and am moving into a second story (AGAIN, STAIRS). So these are things I've upped during this transition to make things a little easier.
And I've been recovering SUPER fast. By the next day, the muscle soreness from the evening before is almost completely gone.
These things have also been helping me recover from my ruptured ovarian cyst, so overall, they're great tools to have on hand.
So if you're training regularly, recovering from an injury, or just putting a lot of demand on your body, these are four things worth knowing about.
1. MSM
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a sulfur-containing compound. Sulfur is involved in connective tissue and other structures throughout the body, and MSM has been studied for exercise-related muscle soreness, recovery, and oxidative stress.
2. Amino Acids
Your body breaks protein down into amino acids, which are then used to build and repair tissue. Essential amino acids, especially leucine, are important for stimulating muscle protein synthesis. This is why getting enough of the right amino acids matters when you're trying to recover and rebuild muscle.
3. Collagen
Collagen is one of the main structural proteins in your body. It's found in tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, and other connective tissues. Collagen peptides provide amino acids and peptides that may support connective tissue, particularly when combined with regular exercise.
4. Colostrum
Colostrum is the first milk produced after birth and contains proteins, growth factors, and immune-related compounds. It's been studied in athletes for things like recovery, immune function, and gut barrier support, particularly during periods of intense training.
Four very different things, but all great tools to have on hand when you're asking a lot from your body.
If you'd like me to send out the ones I use, just type “SEND” in the comments and I got you covered.
