Parasites Aren’t Always the Whole Story: Understanding Gut Health

OK, someone needs to come out and say it.
And mind you, this is coming from someone who healed from “IBS” (something I was told was incurable) and passed LOADS of parasite, mucus and biofilm.
Some of it IS parasite!
But we need to talk about the other factors too.
Digestive symptoms can also be connected to:
MOLD / FUNGAL ISSUES
Certain environmental exposures and fungal overgrowths can affect the gut and overall immune response.
DYSBIOSIS
An imbalance in the gut microbiome can develop for many reasons. Poor gut motility, infections, diet, medications, and problems with the ileocecal valve or other parts of the digestive system can all play a role.
BILE & LIVER FUNCTION
Your liver makes bile, which helps digest and absorb fats. Problems with bile production or flow can affect digestion and nutrient absorption.
And then there’s the bigger picture: HEAVY METALS. PESTICIDES. PLASTIC CHEMICALS. ENVIRONMENTAL TOXINS.
These exposures can potentially affect the gut, microbiome, immune system and detoxification pathways.
These can ALSO look like: - Low stomach acid - Food intolerances or malabsorption - Inflammation or intestinal barrier disruption - Nutrient deficiencies
ETC...
So yes, look for parasite when they make sense.
But don't stop there.
The root cause may be a much bigger picture than what's living in your gut.
