Green Capitalism
Most people assume that if something says “organic,” it automatically means safe, healthy, and toxin-free… but unfortunately, that isn’t always the case.
Did you know oats and chickpeas are often found to contain high levels of glyphosate, even when labeled “organic”? 🌾
Just because you’re eating fruits and vegetables doesn’t mean you aren’t still being exposed to toxins. Many foods today can be coated in artificial waxes, genetically modified, or sprayed with pesticides and other chemicals before they ever reach your plate. 🙄🍎
This is where green capitalism comes in.
Many companies profit from the growing wellness movement by selling the idea of health rather than true transparency. Buzzwords like “organic,” “natural,” “eco-friendly,” and “hypoallergenic” are often used as marketing tools to make products appear cleaner and safer than they really are.
This practice is called greenwashing — when brands market themselves as environmentally conscious or healthy without meaningful standards behind their claims.
So what can we do?
🌿 Buy local whenever possible and get to know the people growing your food. 🌿 Grow your own food if you can, while protecting crops from environmental contaminants.🌿 Learn to forage safely and become more connected to nature and edible plants. 🌿 Support your body’s natural detoxification pathways in a world filled with constant exposure.
Awareness is power. The more informed we become, the more intentional choices we can make for ourselves and our families.
